		<description>When I read this page and see these photos, I get goosebumps.  I try to understand why I respond in this way, so I consider my response a little longer.  I finally conclude that I am taken by inspiration from the journey.  To set out and do something requiring such endurance and commitment  revitalizes my sense of American pride.  

A country founded by people brave and determined enough to pursue the unknown for a possibility of something far better, is truly a great one.  However, we can&#039;t rely solely on the accomplishments of those who came before us.  To see the American spirit continued in the &quot;Mayors Across America&quot; expedition serves as a reminder to me, to do my part, in making this country even better.</description>
